Energy efficiency and zoning. VAV (Variable Air Volume) systems are the modern standard for Class A business centers and hotels. They allow air to be supplied only to those rooms where people are currently present. For example, if a meeting room is empty, the damper automatically closes, reducing the load on the central fan. This saves up to 40% of electricity on ventilation operation and cooling.
Principle of operation. We supply dampers with high-precision actuators (e.g., Belimo) that smoothly regulate the damper position. Control is based on signals from room thermostats, occupancy sensors, or air quality sensors (CO2). CAV (Constant Air Volume) dampers maintain a set air volume regardless of pressure fluctuations in the system, which is critically important for balancing complex networks.
